1. About this policy
Skycast is a solar quote-calculator and lead-generation service built and managed by Maker Street, also known as MKRST. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Maker Street in connection with Skycast and the MKRST services described here.
This policy covers visitors to skycast.mkrst.au, businesses enquiring about or licensing Skycast, people communicating with MKRST about those services, and personal information we handle while providing related websites, advertising, lead management and support. Contact our privacy contact at casey@mkrst.co, with “Privacy request” in the subject.
A Skycast calculator operated under an installer’s brand may also be covered by that installer’s collection notice and privacy policy. That business is responsible for its own sales follow-up and use of leads. This policy explains our role; it does not replace the installer’s policy or authorise unrelated uses of your information. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
2. Information we collect
The information depends on how you interact with us.
- Business enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, business name, website, state, service area, current monthly installation volume, where your leads come from, advertising budget range, preferred timing, consent selection and any notes you provide.
- Communications and customer records: enquiries, emails, messages, meeting or call notes, quotes, agreed services, support requests, follow-up activity and communication preferences. Where needed to deliver an agreed service, we also handle relevant billing, account and authorised business-user details.
- Website and advertising information: page and referring URLs, campaign tags such as UTM parameters, advertising click identifiers such as fbclid and gclid when present, submission time, browser/device information, IP address, cookies and events such as page views, button interactions and successful enquiries.
- Approximate location: the landing page uses location estimated from the connection’s IP address, or the browser’s time zone as a fallback, to centre its background map. This is not a request for your device’s precise GPS location.
- Installer-branded calculators: depending on the calculator and fields used, information can include a property address, roof or map information, solar-panel and battery preferences, modelled system choices and savings, and contact details supplied for a quote or follow-up.
Please do not include sensitive information, identity documents, payment-card details or information about other people in free-text enquiry fields unless we specifically request it for an appropriate purpose. If you provide someone else’s information, you should be authorised to do so and let them know about the relevant privacy notice.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly through forms, calculators, email, phone, SMS, meetings, support and other communications. We may receive information from an installer or client we support, an authorised colleague, an advertising platform, or an integration you or the relevant business uses. We may refer to public business information, such as your business website, to understand an enquiry.
Some technical information is collected automatically when a page or external resource loads, even if you do not submit a form. Advertising tracking is explained below.
You can browse without entering your name, and you can make a general privacy enquiry anonymously or using a pseudonym where practical. Technical data may still be processed. If you do not supply the contact and business details needed for a demo, quote, account or service, we may be unable to respond, assess your area or provide that service. Optional fields can be left blank. You may email us instead of using the form, although email providers will still process that message.
4. How we use information
- Respond to enquiries, check service-area availability, arrange demonstrations, prepare proposals and contact you about your request.
- Set up, operate and support Skycast, installer-branded calculators, websites, agreed advertising campaigns and related MKRST services.
- Capture, route and manage leads; keep contact records, notes and follow-up tasks; avoid duplicate records; and keep a record of consent and preferences.
- Measure which campaigns and pages generate enquiries, understand demand by area, improve the service and advertising, and create or use retargeting audiences where permitted.
- Manage our customer relationships, administration, payments and records where relevant to an agreed service.
- Protect systems, prevent spam or misuse, diagnose delivery problems, handle complaints and meet legal obligations.
We do not treat a privacy policy as blanket permission for any future use. A materially different use may require a further notice or consent. Reports can use aggregated statistics, but information linked to an identifiable person or address remains personal information.
5. Where your enquiry goes
The current licensing form sends your answers and attribution details to our website’s server. It then:
- Sends an internal notification email through Resend, from leads@mkrst.co to casey@mkrst.co. Your email is included as the reply-to address so we can respond.
- Creates or matches a lead in Flightpath → MKRST → Leadflow, our lead-management workspace. Contact details, business details, form answers, source/campaign information and consent-related metadata are stored there. Authorised MKRST users can review the enquiry and manage follow-up.
- Records a successful Lead event with Meta after the delivery endpoint reports success. The website also records page views and may generate automatic interaction events.
Leadflow uses Supabase-backed storage and may associate an enquiry with an existing contact or business to reduce duplicates. A failed response does not always mean nothing was received: one delivery channel may succeed while another fails. Our integrations use identifiers to help manage repeat submissions.
The licensing form is an enquiry to MKRST, not an instruction to distribute your details to a list of installers. For a homeowner enquiry made on an installer-branded calculator, the recipient is the installer identified on that calculator or its collection notice. MKRST may operate the technology and campaigns on that installer’s behalf.
6. Tracking, cookies and advertising
Meta tracking is active on the Skycast landing page. The Meta Pixel loads when the page loads; it is not held until the contact checkbox is ticked. It sends page-view and successful-lead events and can record automatic interactions. This may disclose the page URL, referral and click information, IP address, browser/device details, cookie identifiers and event information to Meta. Meta may associate these signals with its own account or advertising data for measurement, ad delivery, audience matching and retargeting. Advertising data should not be assumed to be anonymous.
The explicitly configured Lead event identifies the Skycast demo enquiry; we do not deliberately attach your free-text notes or complete form answers to that event. This does not mean Meta receives no personal information: its pixel can collect identifiers and other technical or automatically detected information under its settings.
Google advertising: MKRST’s managed services can include Google campaigns and conversion measurement on sites where configured. At the date of this policy, this licensing landing page has no active Google Tag Manager container or configured direct Google Ads conversion ID. It does retain Google click identifiers when supplied in the URL. Its form also prepares contact and event information in the page’s browser-side data layer for potential measurement integration; that preparation alone is not a Google transmission. We will update the relevant notice when tracking materially changes.
Maps and fonts: the landing page requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap and fonts from Google Fonts. Those requests disclose technical information such as IP address and browser headers to the resource provider. Map tile requests also identify the map area being displayed. Our hosting provider handles connection information to serve pages and estimate location.
Your controls: browser settings, cookie blocking and tracking-protection tools can limit some tracking; clearing cookies can remove stored identifiers. You can also use Meta’s advertising/privacy controls and Google’s ad controls. These choices may affect functionality or personalisation and do not necessarily stop every technical request or all advertising. Private browsing alone is not a guarantee that tracking stops. This site does not currently provide its own cookie-preference centre. Contact us if you want help understanding or objecting to a particular use. An email-marketing opt-out does not automatically change advertising-platform settings.
This privacy page itself does not load the marketing pixel, map tiles or external fonts.
8. Automation and AI
Our systems automate delivery, source attribution, contact matching and follow-up administration. Where enabled in the relevant workspace, authorised staff can use AI-assisted features to summarise enquiry or email content and prepare internal briefs. Relevant source text may be processed through Vercel AI Gateway and the model service selected for that feature. MKRST also uses AI-assisted tools in creating and maintaining websites and advertising materials.
These functions may process personal information when it is included in the supplied material. The current licensing form’s delivery endpoint does not itself call an AI model. AI output can be inaccurate and should be reviewed before it is relied on. You can contact us about information used in a brief, request correction, or ask for human review of an outcome affecting your enquiry. This notice does not authorise unrelated public disclosure or unrestricted model training using your enquiry.
9. Overseas processing
Our cloud, email, advertising and software providers operate internationally. Personal information may be stored, processed or accessed outside Australia. The current website deployment and Resend sending configuration use United States infrastructure; other providers and their subprocessors may process information in Australia, the United States and other countries in their global service networks.
Locations vary by service, region, support arrangements and subsequent provider changes. We cannot promise that all data or backups stay in Australia. Where applicable law requires safeguards for overseas disclosure, we take reasonable steps to meet those requirements. Publishing this policy is not a request for you to waive those protections. Contact us for information about a particular service or transfer.
10. Keeping your information
Information is held in hosted application databases, email systems and records used to provide and administer services. Measures in the current Skycast enquiry integration include HTTPS transport, server-side credentials and an intake key restricted to the MKRST workspace. We aim to restrict access to authorised users and service providers according to their role. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, customer relationship, service delivery, consent and suppression records, dispute handling and applicable legal or accounting obligations. Different records have different needs; this policy does not promise one fixed deletion deadline for every system. Copies may remain in backups or provider logs until their normal retention cycles expire.
You can request deletion or de-identification. We will assess what can be removed and explain any lawful reason to retain information. Limited suppression information may be retained to respect a request not to contact you. Where required, we will take appropriate steps to investigate and notify affected people and the regulator about an eligible data breach.
11. Marketing and contact preferences
The Skycast form asks whether you are happy for Maker Street to contact you about Skycast by phone, SMS or email. We use your contact details to respond and follow up in line with that request and applicable law. We do not interpret that checkbox as permission for unrelated organisations to market to you.
You may withdraw marketing permission at any time: use an unsubscribe facility where provided, reply with an opt-out request, tell us during a call, or email casey@mkrst.co. We will action valid opt-out requests without charging you. We may still send necessary service, transaction or legal communications. Withdrawing permission does not undo information already lawfully processed.
12. Your rights and complaints
To request access to or correction of information, ask about its source or recipients, request deletion, change preferences or make a complaint, email casey@mkrst.co. Explain your request and provide enough detail for us to locate the record. We may need to verify your identity or authority without collecting more information than necessary.
We will assess the request, respond within a reasonable time and explain any applicable exception or refusal. There is no charge to make a request or seek a correction. If a lawful access-related charge is proposed, we will explain it first. We can help direct a request to an installer where that business controls the relevant records.
For a complaint, we will review the issues, investigate relevant records, contact you if more information is needed and explain our response and proposed resolution. We aim to respond within 30 days and will let you know if more time is needed. If you remain dissatisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), which can advise whether it can deal with your complaint.
13. Children and policy updates
The Skycast licensing service is intended for business users, and installer quote services are intended for adults arranging property-related services. We do not ask children to submit enquiries. If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, contact us so we can assess and address it.
Links to installers, advertising platforms and other websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. A link does not mean this policy governs that service. We may update this policy when our services, providers or obligations change. The current version and effective date will appear here; material changes will be brought to your attention where required. You can request a free copy in another accessible form.
